FANTASTIC!

We have owned several blenders, some average and some 'professional.' None come close to power of this one. First, you can tell by the weight of it that it is well built. Metal construction and very powerful. I put whole ice cubes in the blender and turned it on. (Only one speed with a pulse on that same speed). The ice turned to sluce before I could blink. I could not believe how fast it blended the ice. It is absolutely amazing. If you are looking for sheer power for making frostys or other ice crushing capabilities, this is the one. I would have given it 10 stars if I was able. You can not go wrong with this powerhouse!
Mmmmmmm...smoooothies.

This is basically the smoothie-o-matic. My wife makes yogurt and fruit juice smoothies for the kids so they'll volunteer to get their protien and their vitamins. We filled the container with ice cubes, and then added orange juice and vanilla yogurt. I hit the switch for about 10 seconds and it was done. In fact, the ice was just about turned to water. Maybe I'll give it a second less next time.

The big rubber feet on this new model are helpful too as they help stabilize the unit. One thing though, when you first unpack and start using this thing, remember that those blades are mighty sharp!
great for bars

last weekend i hosted a party for my friends and family and this blender was the most used appliance in my kitchen! its perfect for behind the bar because it has 2 speeds and an unbeatable ice crusher. the rubber bottom is the best because it doesnt really shake at all like most blenders do. i would strongly suggest this blender to anyone.
Simple is beautiful

The handsomely elegant glass-on-black Oster blender crushes ice with ease and doesn't shake, as some less sturdy contenders do.

Users who value simplicity - like this reviewer's noble spouse - find the available two-speed transmission sufficient with no hankerings for more. The neutral black base and textured glass are attractive in kitchens of many colors, which adds to the appeal. One guest opined that our new blender 'reminded her of a really hot man in a tuxedo.' Actually, she didn't say anything about a really hot man, but the rest is true.

This blender is louder than some others, but that is the price of power.

If you want classic lines and simple operation, this may be the blender for you.
Finally a blender that works.

I have been on a quest to find a blender that actually works. I make a lot of smoothies and needed a blender that pulverizes ice and frozen fruit. This is the best blender I have ever used and it cost less than others I have tried.
Simply the best...

I've had this now for about 6 months or so, and I make smoothies and orange julius imitations from time to time and this baby is a real workhorse! It's squat, ugly, industrial gray and utilitatian in design and as loud as a mig at takeoff when going full blend, but underneath this blender lies the heart of a beast that will surely never die. There is no alternative to an all metal drive shaft and linkages, cheap plastic won't last half as long and good luck finding a replacement part when you need one... Sure the other blenders out there are prettier and come in a kaleidoscope of colors to match any decor but if it's just blending power and reliability you're after then I whole-heartedly reccomend this one!
Awesome blender

I bought this blender for my wife to replace our dying unit. She absolutely loves this thing. There are no fancy button options like you will find on most household blenders. The control is merely a 2-stage on-off switch. It's spring loaded so you have to hold it to the on position and releasing pressure will let it shut off quick. At first we thought this would be a pain in usage until we saw how fast this blender will pulverize anything you can throw at it. It can reduce the most stubborn solid to liquid in mere seconds.
Fast and simple

I tried it for the first time with a Cooks Illustrated strawberry coulis recipe, which says blend for 20 seconds and then use a strainer to get it smooth. Well, after about blending about 5 seconds in this blender (it was so powerful I was afraid to let it go 20 seconds without checking the food), the sauce was smooth and there was nothing to strain. It seems about as loud as a power saw, but but for the short time it's used, it's a small inconvenience. The simple on/pulse switch is great.
Wonderful for smoothies and raw foods diets

Thank you Oster for saving me $300.

My wife recently went on a raw foods diet and insisted that she needed a $350-$550 Vitamix or Blendtec blender because that's what all the raw food sites recommended. My thought was that raw foods were all fairly soft anyway, so what's the need for something that can blend concrete? I talked her into this Oster blender with the promise that if it broke I would get her the Vitamix. Since the Oster comes with a 3-year warranty I think I can save the expense for a while. :)

So far the Oster has been fantastic. We've had it for about a month now and it gets used every day for raw foods smoothies and other foods. It's a very solidly built blender and feels very high quality. As other reviews say, it is LOUD, but the expensive ones are too. Cleanup is also very easy using the recommended method of simply blending some hot water with a bit of soap.
WISH I COULD GIVE IT MORE STARS!

AFTER USING THE TYPICAL DEPARTMENT STORE BLENDERS ALL MY LIFE, USING THIS BLENDER IS A REAL TREAT. I USE IT MOSTLY FOR BEVERAGES SUCH AS SMOOTHIES ETC. THE DRINKS ARE GREAT, THE ICE IS WONDERFULLY BLENDED WITH THE OTHER INGREDIENTS, AND IT ONLY TAKES SECONDS!
Leaps and bounds better than previous Oster blender

I love this blender! I had another Oster for many years with which I was never satisfied. After reading positive reviews, I decided to purchase this. I'm glad I did because this is a far superior product. It's very sturdy and has a good capacity. It's loud, but because it's so effective, you will probably have it turned on for less than half the time of another blender - I make my standard smoothie in 6 (!) seconds. I highly recommend this product.
fantastic

Very loud and lots of vibration but makes a great smoothie in one minute. I like to use frozen fruit and it pulverizes the fruit very effectively. I would recommend this product.
Sturdy and Powerful Oster Beehive Pro

I use it twice a day chopping tough vegetables sometimes running it for two or three minutes. The feet are wider than the non-pro beehive and the motor does not have the high pitch whine of the non-pro model. I wish I had known about the pro model before since the standard ones give out after a few years.
Best blender I have ever used, period (and the loudest!)

This thing is POWERFUL. Compared to my Waring Professional blender, this Oster blows it out of the water. Yes, it has one speed (plus a "pulse" function), but you only need one speed anyway. And it is so powerful that I have yet to find anything that hasn't been completely blended within seconds. Simply put in ingredients, flip the switch, and five seconds later you have a perfectly blended drink.

Be forewarned - you will NOT be able to hold a conversation while this thing is blending. It's almost as if an airplane is taking off in your kitchen. But it's over in seconds, so it doesn't matter. I'd take this blender over any other ANY DAY!
